terrible voice chat in csgo

It's not really a big issue, I wouldnt die if they never upgraded it. But I have been playing CS:GO for a year and a half now, and ever since I started, I always felt like the voice comms sounded super bad, and I just dont know why. Everyones voices just sound like, fuzzy or distorted. Like I said, its not really the biggest issue ever, I can live without them fixing it, but does anyone know if they plan on upgrading the voice chat quality? Or why they havent? And just so everyone knows, I am not attacking valve or saying anything negative I love the game no matter what. I just wanna know why the voice comms sound bad, Thanks!

It's an old codec that compresses the ♥♥♥♥ out of voice to save bandwith, but a new codec was just introduced.
Now, if a server sets "sv_voicecodec vaudio_celt", the voice quality will be almost as good as in most VoiP programs.

Not yet, at least. I hope it'll change soon, the new one's really good, if a bit more quiet than before.
