Is it hard to get your skin approved for game?
Hello everyone,
I got few questions, so please help me.
Is it hard to get your skin approved for game? What I mean is how many likes do you need to get your skin in game? How much time does approval takes?

Maybe there's someone that could answer this?

it's not all about votes, if you put effort into your item, make it good with an original idea, and market it using pictures to make it stand out among everyone elses items, (this alone will get you more likes and favorites) you have a very high chance of getting your item into the game.

Also it has to fit in the collection, and it can't have any gold like textures.

Its sort of like winning a small lottery.

Their choise of new skins is based on what they need at the time, plus the suitability of the skin and its appearance compared to existing skins in the game.

They may need a lower quality skin to fill the Mil-Spec or Restricted position, so it doesn't have to be some fancy wild bright coloured design.

They may be looking for something with a certain theme. Sort of like how most of the Chroma skins have a loose South American feel.

You can't really know what Valve is looking for, so you just have to create something and put it out there hoping it gets noticed.

The sheer amount of skins in the workshop makes it so that even the best ones stay down

Exactly, votes are just a way to curate the market for skins, so that valve doesn't have to sift through thousands of skins to find one they want.
