How to shoot M4A4/AK Properly?

Hello.. This might be a captain obvious question but I'm becoming pretty frustraited when playing Competetive matches.. I'm silver and I know I suck and trying to improve but everytime I play competetive matches I always have problems shooting the guns, I know positioning plays a big part in it but most cases I see an enemy first and I'm tapping at them and somehow their able to kill me when in my eyes, I tapped and hit him for the most part. Someone tried to tell me to burst, Same thing. I burst at him, In my eyes I saw him first and shot at him first and he still kills me. Am I doing something wrong, it's starting to piss me off honestly.

I try to do that and they always seem to kill me everytime, despite if I saw them first/shot at them first.

Practice shooting at walls and get spray patterns down.

It all comes with time. So what you basically want to do is to first try to aim to head, hold LMB and pull your mouse down depending on distance and the weapon (you want to pull it faster with an ak and slower with an m4, same goes with distance - the higher the distance the faster you should pull your mouse down).
