It is a shame the Glock 18 isn't really modelled after the Glock 18.

But rather a Glock 26. The Glock 18 was so iconic and big in previous games, but this game's Glock is so small, and in real life can only carry a capacity of 10 rounds. I wonder why Valve chose not to model it after a Glock 18. Then the CT's would have their iconic large pistol and the T's would have their iconic large pistol. Back then it was possible Valve could have changed the model, but with the addition of skins, that idea is completely out of the window.

There are a lot of different discrepancies between counter strike weapons and their real life counterparts. Some are because Valve doesn't want to pay royalty fees, but I guess it's maybe just because they're lazy.

Doesn't want to pay royalty, yet they name it the Glock 18? How can they be lazy? They modelled a weapon model for the Glock, they could have just as easily modelled as another weapon. Valve is not lazy when it comes to making weapon models for CS:GO, that would be silly. They try hard to make them as high quality as possible. In addition, the Glock 26 they modelled it after has a custom long slide and barrel in game.

Yeah, the Glock 18 is a real negative aspect to starting on terrorist side in my opinion. I wonder if Valve will ever introduce a new pistol for the terrorists like they did with the USP-S.

The Glock 26 in CS:GO has a custom longer slide and barrel. Take a look at this screenshot:

And imagine the barrel and slide being shorter by about an inch or so to match the Glock 26 shown in the first image.

The Glock in CS:GO has too short of a grip to be the 19.
