Why does pressing E to pick up a gun almost NEVER work for me?

Everytime I am in front of a gun on the floor and it says "press E" blablabla I have to press E like 10 times to make it work and often its already too late and i get killed..

I usually just press 'G' and drop my gun, it can be a bit weird using e, you have to be pretty close to it

You have to be closer to pick it up with no weapon. You can press E to pick it up from a range where you would have to get a bit closer to be able to walk over it.

Who on earth uses the '+use' function to pick up weapons? Just drop your old gun first lol

Lots of people do. You might not pick up the right weapon if there are a bunch on the floor. You might want to do it sneakily by grabbing a gun around the corner without actually having to drop your gun and turn the corner only to get shot.

I usually ALWAYS pick weapons up that way, it's a great new feature compared to the previous titles. It's usually also a lot faster when it works right away.

Well if your E key functions every time you press it, and you are 100% sure of it, then the only explanation I can think of is lag. But even then, doesn't seem likely.

Yep, my E key is absolutely fine, just tested it since I noticed you were serious. It also can't be lag, my ping is usually between 15 - 20 on near servers. Maybe I am too far away most of the time and the tooltip just has a big delay before it disappears.

Just throw a weapon like IBuyPower matches and you will pick a weapon without problem!

I dont use G anymore because if you are not standing right on top of the gun then theres a tiny moment where you have no weapon equipped at all before you walk over the one you wanna pick up. That can end up pretty awkward if it happens right when a round ends in that moment and you end up with not gun at all... lol
