Move CS:GO files to a different drive?
I have CS:GO installed. I want to move it to another drive. How do I do that?

You should search for it in Steam File.

Cut and paste your SteamApps folder to your new drive.

After that, verify file integrity for each game and assign it to the directory.

heres what you do: install steam on another drive, open up that version of steam, download the game to that drive, then set steam to look on that drive for games. thats how i have it setup: all of my steam games are on an external hard drive

I can't download the game again though, that's why I want to move it.

I just left it on the original drive :\

to download the game again, you need to remove the directory that you're currently using so it won't find cs;go and add the one you wish to use.

I recently did this and I have been getting weird lag ever since has anyone else gotten this while csgo is on another drive ?

I moved cs go and dota2 (tho this applies to any steam game) to a different partition through these steps:
  • Assign the desired location as a steam library
  • Move(cut) the game from original folder into a different one
  • Delete the game entry from Steam UI, Library section
  • Move back the game from backup folder(point 2) into the new steam library(desired location)
  • Click install game in Steam UI. Steam will be verifying integrity of game files and it'll be done without downloading anything.

Best of luck.
