Modding the game may result in VAC Ban.
Not even from Gamebanana? I'm pretty sure it's on the Valve's OK list as it provided alot of mods for CS over the years. All which were approved by Valve.
Valve takes CSGO very seriously as an eSport rather than an ordinary light-hearted, lightly-thought-out game, so most if not all file changes in regards to model swaps are not permitted within VAC-secured servers.
Rubbish. You do NOT get a VAC ban for custom skins. However you may not be able to join Competitive with these skins.
Never mind then, if I can't use it on competative what's the point, I only DO competative, I don't play anything else. but then again you can use them offline which is also VAC protected unless you play with the -insecure launch option.
but they won't work in official servers.
