Also possibly Windows notifications are doing it, may try disabling them.
Yeah, I use discord. I'll try uninstalling it later tonight. I'm not sure if Windows notifications are the issue. I'll get pop ups mid game, but when it minimizes I don't have any pop up. I'm gonna turn them off anyway though. Because they are annoying asf. lol.
i can only think of 2-3 things that can cause this:
1) you have some other program running on background that steals focus. most likely some trash that throws up notifications or other alerts. -- this is why i always disable ALL notifications. i never have any notifications at all, not in windows, not in steam.
for example firefox and chrome addons/extensions are causing this when they update. i've had it happen few times where addon updates itself and then opens new tab saying "this addon has been updated" and it ALWAYS steals focus.
that's why i also disable all kind of auto updates, it's seriously annoying when programs do that ... devs nowdays don't think that their program is not only one that people have on their PC.
2) you have game in fullscreen window or borderless and you're clicking outside game window, this can happen in fullscreen window or borderless modes, that your mouse goes outside the game window and you click on edge of screen (desktop) and this causes game to minimize as you clicked on desktop. --- this is why i never use borderless or fullscreen window. it also reduces performance.
3) about same as 2, but there's something open on your desktop that can be clicked-thru. just like some windows have "always on top" option, but instead of showing on top of game, they're only clickable thru game window. so when your mouse goes on top of that window and you click, then it steals focus as you clicked on it thru game. if this is the case, minimize everything else when playing. but this is also least likely cause.
if it's something in windows, i suggest use "O&OShutUp10++" to disable all sorts of annoyances and spyware within windows. there's one for 11 aswell, but 11 is spyware itself, i don't suggest running win11, it's worst windows yet.
either way that tool is very simple and free and does great job disabling annoyances.
I use it to and does not cause issues
Overlay does not work if you dont use the launch option to let it work and does not take control of your screen like that.
MSI Afterburner same.
Use High DPI Aware and disable full screen optimization see if that works.
If not you can try to apply a custom static DPI to your screen to 100 instead of a random one you use.
Probably. I'm silver so it's very possible.
same but my pc has come to terms with my suckiness and does not minimize,,,
u might be hitting your windows key on accident when playing.... happens sometimes...
