6/11/24 patch broke the game :( stuttering like crazy
The game is unplayable for me and it's never been like this. Does anyone have a solution to fix it? I've tried so many things. My PC is fairly new, Windows 11 / R7 5800X / RTX 3070 with all current drivers. I have the same ping as I always do (18-19) and my FPS is normal (240-300) yet it's just horribly "laggy". I tried re-installing the game and it was not any better. I also tried playing cs2 using a different (non-prime) account on my windows 10 partition (which has outdated GPU drivers and such), I re-installed the game first and then played a match and weirdly it was perfectly fine. No stuttering at all. I'm not really sure why it would only be having this issue on my main windows 11 install with prime activated but not on windows 10 using a non-prime account. If anyone has figured out a solution please let me know! Its weird that a lot of people don't seem to have this issue but then some of us do. I don't understand how/why this is happening. The game has NEVER ran this poorly for me and I hate that I can't figure out how to fix it.

What's even more confusing about this to me is the windows 10 partition uses the built in WiFi chip which is much worse than my 6E WiFi card which works on windows 11 only. Knowing this information I can rule out my connection/cs2 server issues. It has to be the 6/11/24 update that broke the game, I can't figure out what else it could be. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them!

I had the same problem too but for just a short while.

When I first installed my 6E wifi card it kind of had this issue but it was not nearly as bad as it is now. I haven't updated my drivers or messed with anything like that. I did update my GPU driver AFTER it was already having this issue but that didn't make it any better or worse. I'm very confused but I think it's something they did to the game with the 6/11/24 patch because other people have been saying they're having the same issue but it was never like this before. It's just strange to me because its not the majority of players it seems. I don't get how only some of us are experiencing this :(

I think its more to do with Valve servers since it is packet loss and many people have reported about it.

I don't think so because my friends are not experiencing this and when I played on windows 10/non prime it was perfectly fine. This is only an issue after 6/11/24 patch. I've never had this issue so consistently EVER. The only time I have ever experienced stuttering/rubber banding like this is when I had really high ping. I'm not having high ping and it's not showing any packet loss.

I really hope so bro. I'm trying to contact them any way possible and post about it because I don't want this to be an ongoing issue. It just worries me because usually they don't listen to the community so I'm hoping this time they do. I just wanna play cs 😓

I have tried that already but it didn't really do anything. You mean the option in Disk Cleanup, right?

Ohhh i forgot to add in the advanced video settings in game, i changed shadow to "sun-only" i think its a recently added feature in the new patch as well. not sure if this helps.

I have messed with that setting as well as all the other settings. I cant change anything to make it better. The game has been ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up at a base level :( I wish there was some way I could fix it myself. I even tried re-installing the game.

No actually you can go fix it by deleting everything off the "C:\Users\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache" folder and rebooting your PC. i tried this and no more stutter
