Helmet is for HS.
When you have both the Armour value is for both.
So 100 armor is spread across the armor spectrum.
If you get shot in the body for 50 it removes 50 armor regardless of armor type.
If however you have no helmet, hs will have full effect.
With Helmet, normal armor values apply.

The damage you take is the damage removed from armor, no armor means HP gets removed.
Not true. Armor's protection depends on a weapon's armor penetration. (I think the effects of wall penetration matters too. Like if a bullet goes through a wall, you'll take less health damage, as in the effects are stacked.
It's impossible to lose all your armor in a single round without dying. 100 armor is as good as 20 armor in terms of damage prevention. All that matters is your armor never reaches zero, once it does the effects of the armor go away.
