It is pretty boring, I played the Guardian thing and it is like this:
You get challenged to do like 15 kills with a SSG 08, then, there are many waves of CT and you got to prevent them from getting the Lord William while keeping yourself from dying. if all your bot teammates die, you get your challenge reset back, so it is pretty hard -- and boring.

So, for those of you who want a better explanation, by changing the servers "game_type" to 4, it makes the game in guardian mode, kinda like a survival mode that pits you against waves of bots. Guardian only works on specific maps, including.
de_dust2
gd_cbbl
gd_bank
cs_office
de_dust
de_overpass
and my personal favorite
gd_crashsite

To start up the gamemode on crashsite for example, type the following commands into the console
game_mode 0
game_type 4
map gd_crashsite
And vwalah, any private server becomes guardian.

And btw there are SOOO many maps that don't work. Trying to launch maps like Cache will work, and load, but the gamemode has a feature that kills any player to far from the designated bombsite or hostage. To ensure that the map you are playing works, type gd_, then select a map from the drop down below your console. All maps beggining with gd_ work.
