good skin/bad knife or bad knife/good skin

so im looking to purchase a knife and i know my options, i was wondering whether its a better idea to get the better knife in a worse skin (kara urban, safari, BFK night) or a worse knife in a better skin (gut fade, tiger tooth, doppler).
im not looking for people telling me to get what i like because ^^^ is what i like, just advice for trading as they will hopefully be traded up

i like the kara and tbh i dont mind having a skin like safari or urban on it but i dont know if itll be easier to trade up
