Shooting while moving.
What exactly does this do to the accuracy? Is there a way to compensate and actually land kills? Basically, give me the low down on how movement affects accuracy in this here vidya game.

It messes up the accuracy big time. There's no way to compensate. CSGO is not supposed to be a run and gun game. You're supposed to sit still while shooting.

If you REALLY want to run and gun, you'll have to shotgun or SMG, or tec-9.

it increases the error of each shot. learn to back tap (while strafing left, let go, and tap right) and see how it affects the cross hairs, you want to shoot when everything is as tight as possible.
With SMG's you can run and gun at short to long range and be fairlyu accurate. With rifles you have to stand still to be accurate. That's why smg's are easier to use for new players.

Never fire a rifle while moving, especially the AK. Although that said noobs will spray AK while running around and will get the occasional lucky head shot as one random round finds its mark. I hate when noobs get lucky like this because it just reinforced their idea that this is a good idea.

SMGs you can spray at mid or short range and keep things under control. Make sure the shots don't go over the guys head though.

Pistols, move in a circle around the guy while shooting.

Can you shoot pistols while moving whilst maintaining their recoil pattern?

The number of times in DM, someone has runned and gunned with the AK behind me, and somehow got a lucky shot is crazy ...

So to summarize. Only shotguns and smgs can be safely fired while moving, all the rest you have to stop for a moment (I assume as the targeting reticule begins to get smaller, the less random the shots will be) before shooting. The question is, does it have to be a full stop, or can it be during that brief deceleration period after you've let go of the move keys?

Even most SMGs and shotguns get some inaccuracy from moving. Mag-7 is affected by movement the least, the rest will not be as accurate. At longer ranges, stop to fire even SMGs and shotguns.

With rifles, a full stop is recommended. Stop faster by pressing the opposite direction's movement key.

I get that, but there's obviously only a brief instant when you actually have "zero" movement speed. I assume as you slow down, your accuracy increases? It's not like there's only 2 options: 1) full stop zero movement speed 100% accuracy, or 2) any movement speed 0% accuracy. I assume there's a linear regression w/ move speed to accuracy right? So moving at 2 units per second gives more accuracy than moving at 4 units per second, etc.?

I also have the same problem.

Pistols don't really have a recoil pattern. Not like rifles anyway. Just aim a little lower after the first two shots. Practice on a wall to see what happens. CZ-75 might be different but P250, 5-7, Tec-9.... I shoot these while running no problems.

I could be wrong but from what I remember the stats sheets just have values for stopped, moving, walking, crouching....

Therefore there is no linear regression. Unless of course the stats sheets are just simplifying things for expediency.

In any case you really really don't want to fire a rifle while moving. A single accurate shot is better than 20 near misses.

There is, it's not just on/off.
The values are probably for the maximum movement speed of the weapon or something like that. You're pretty accurate when you move crouched, even with rifles you might actually hit something. Walking or slowing your movement by hugging walls also makes you more accurate than running.

I guessthe only best way to get max accuracy while moving is to counter-strafe your movement. i.e say you are at some cover and you have to peak someone right, then as soon as you press D to peek, press A at the same time in such a way that your movement velocity reaches near 0. This will help you compensate the movement recoil and you can shoot pretty much accurate while shooting, even with awps.

funny - but 60% of ppl killing me while they are full running with ak. If i run my ak is totally ♥♥♥♥, but ppl running and shooting?
