Difference Between GN1-GN3
Basically, I was in a lobby with a friend from school (who is gn2), and his friend from steam, who is GN3.

His friend claimed that "He doesn't want to play with a GN1"
I don't really care much that he didn't want to play with me, but it struck me as kind of arrogant how he still allowed a gn2 to play with him.

I encountered this in silver when a silver 3, didn't want to play with a silver 2.

Let's be honest. There isn't really a difference.

From s3-sem, there is a difference.

Not from s2-s3 or gn1-gn2

If he is GN3 but doesn't want to play with a friends' friend because he is GN1 then he is pretty much an arrogant, naive a**hole. Basically. Should avoid being friends with such a guy.

The difference isn't big (that can even happen when you play solo), the enemies ranks will be similar and telling a friend that you don't want to play with his friend because of the slightly lower rank... wow!

On a side note, because of recent ban waves ranks are currently heavily changing so a rank difference of 2 really means nothing right now.

Everything you said I agree with. I was happy not to play with him afterwards because I realized that if he's that arrogant not under the stress of CS:GO, I wouldn't want to see him in game either.

Gold nova 1 to Gold nova master is the same ♥♥♥♥. The real skill gap is from MG2 to MGE, and from DMG to LE.

Maybe he didn't want to play with lower ranks because if he lost it would be more derank points than against equal players/

Sorry but that's bull****. GN1 to GNM is 4 ranks difference. Thats quite a lot. You saying MG2 to MGE is a big skillgap is probably because you hover around those ranks, so ranking up is harder because it either requires you to improve or get lucky a lot.

Actually i'm LE. And GN1 to GNM is absolutely no difference. Gold nova = silver with a fancy star.

MGE to LE is no difference to me either. Lower rankes always seem easy.

But to people who are MGE or lower it will be.
And the same applies to Silver. Or Nova. Or MG. Saying that there is no difference in lower ranks is just you being ignorant/arrogant.
