crouching and strafing not working

[2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid]

when I press ctrl then D and hold them for a strafing crouch the character does nothing. If I press D THEN ctrl my character will crouch and strafe. As I let go of D and try to strafe again with ctrl still pressed my character will not strafe. It will however work going the other way. I have the same problem with Insurgency.

Bad keyboard is my guess. Cheaper keyboards (and typically laptop keyboards) have horrible key mapping, and certain key combinations "choke" the input. For the normal keyboard this happens on 3 or more simultanious keypresses, but there are some even worse keyboards that can't even handle two inputs in certain zones.

well, it's advertised as higher than the stouted 10 key rollover of most boards. it says it can give as many as the OS can take. It is a Rosewill Apollo.

I tried many other keys in combination in Insurgency, I was croutching, walking forward, strafing left, and reloading and pressing the all chat key. I tried to see if I could duplicate the problem in a different client, I used FarCry4 and Uplay, the problem I was having was not happening with this game. I'm convinced it's a problem with steam or something on my end somehow.

so its not a bad keyboard and its not ghosting. It's something with steam. I tried the same thing in Snipver V2 thinking it might be a something with source games and my keyboard. It was still happening.

I can't even do it... do you get that?? its working in another game.. but not this game, or Insurgency or BF4 or Dying Light. BUT it worked in FarCry4. I asked the question in the CSGO forum because there is a lot of traffic here and it was happening in game.

I wasn't asking how to play the game, there are much better people than you I could get information on playing games better from.

I read it might be an OS issue. I do have Windows 8.1 and please don't tell me my problem is trying to crouch and strafe in CS and just even using Win8 in general.

Ah knooo. I know it gets you killed. But itd working in some games and not in others, I was just seeing if anybody has heard of or had this issue. I looked online tried a few solutions I get nothing.
