Possible Solution for "Failed to reconnect to match"

This is an issue that has copped me many bans. I recently uninstalled CS:GO and Steam in a fit of rage due to this (and the resulting 24 hour ban), only to find the exact same thing happened when I reinstalled later that week.

1. In competitive match
   
2. Connection issue starts
   
3. "Warning: auto-disconnect in x seconds" in CS:GO
   
4. Steam voice chat connectivity regained ~5 seconds after connectivity issue
   
5. Auto-disconnect occurs
   
6. Cannot reconnect to match after attempting for >60 seconds - "failed to reconnect to match"
   
7. Restart game, restart Steam, validate game cache (all while racing the ban timer) - no change, still unable to connect

I believe it may be an issue with my ISP's DNS servers (they are said to be flaky) - I have nothing to base this off other than the most recent time I experienced this (i.e. all of the stages mentioned above), I was preparing to reboot my modem from the web interface when I noticed the DNS servers were not Google's as I had previously set them. I changed the primary DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and the secondary to 8.8.4.4, started CS:GO, and was able to reconnect immediately. While using these servers I have not had the issue. Hope this helps someone.
