Is there a big difference from 1000 DPI to 1600 DPI?
I'm getting a new mouse, and it has 3 preset DPI's: 800, 1600, 2400. I'm use to 1000 DPI. Would it be a big difference from 1000 DPI to 1600 DPI? And if you're wondering, I'm getting the CM Storm Devastator bundle from amazon. I'm also not sure if I can manually change the DPI to any number, not just the presets they give.

Thanks

The difference is 600 DPI, which is big or small depending on how you see it

It's already a big difference for me to switch between 600 and 800. But it's all personal taste, just lower your ingame sens to compensate.

It's 60% more, sounds like quite much to me.

Lower dpi is more accurate

Yes!!!
Dots per square inch is like how high you resolution is.
400dpi is like 800 X 400 resolution, and 1960 x 1280 is normal.
The higher the resolution of your mouse, the higher your resolution will be, which also affects accuracy.

In that case playing at 800 dpi would be ok. You can still change the windows sensitivity and ingame sense anyways.

But yes there is a fair difference between 1000 and 1600.

I have mine set to 1600dpi, with Windows sensitivity at 4, and in game settings at 3.8

You would be skipping twice the pixels at 800 dpi and resolution whatever

Have you ever tried to aim at a certain spot, but your mouse and screen keeps skipping pixels?
That is low DPI

Well, if you get used to it and can control it, higher DPI result in faster speed which can make a positive difference.

I used to play TF2 with 1cm sens for most classes, but it's a game where you don't have to be as precise, that'd propably be overkill for CS
