Dust II, who are the real terrorists?
Okay, now before any of you start yelling all about the real life conflict, I am saying this only in the sense of the fictional world of CS:GO. I repeat: I AM MAKING NO REAL LIFE IMPLICATIONS, ONLY JUDGEMENTS BASED ON THE GAME ITSELF.

In Dust II, the most popular map, we see the terrorists "the elite crew" vs the CTs, "the IDF". Now forget everything that you've read about either faction, and for that matter, imagine they aren't the elite crew vs IDF, let's call them red vs blue, Madrid vs Barcelona, hell, even girls vs boys. Only think of what's happening on the Map as you play.

First thing's first. What do the factions say as the round starts? Two of the lines that are heard from the Ts are "so that we may be free", and "we must drive them from our lands". right off that bat it looks like the Ts are fighting for freedom, to get back what's rightfully theirs. On the other hand the CTs say things like "your task is simple, take them out". they don't say subdue the enemies, prevent damage, or anything like that. it's simple, they want to kill them, something a terrorist would want to do, kill people.

Next let's look at the objective at hand. The Ts are attempting to bomb the target, but what is the target? according to different sources, and the suspicious look of the crate, the targets trying to be bombed are chemical weapons, which are classified as weapons of mass destruction. I'd expect terrorists to try to take control over them so they could be used for their own foul deeds, but the Ts on this map are trying to destroy them so that they cannot be used by anyone. Also why are the CTs protecting these weapons? Why do they have them in the first place if under the chemical weapons convention of 1993 they are banned worldwide? So who's really doing something illegal? The people who have the banned weapons, or the people trying to destroy them?

Last on my list, the spawn points. Look at the different spawn points of the Ts and CTs. The Ts start out in the open where anybody can see them. The CTs are starting from underground where they are hidden from plain view. That just seems a bit fishy to me.

So who are the bad guys and who are the good guys in the scenario? Thoughts?

Once again I'll say this is all 100% game theory, I am not involving any aspects from the real world, I am only showing examples from what happens when you play on Dust II and noting else.

Just a thought... maybe that people, who try to set free a chemical-weapon with a little c4-bomb, which is not able to destroy most of chemical-weapons.
Well even though the objectives are chemical weapons, they might use these to defeat terrorists, which is why the T side wants to destroy them. Plus the lines that the terrorists say, might indicate they are extremists and think according to their belief that they are right, just like the ISIS.

Edit: Watched the wikia, according to the wikia the new version (CS:GO) has the word "الفواكه" (al-fawakih) on the boxes, which means fruit, implying the Terrorists' goal is to disrupt the refugee's food supply (given the location is a war-torn city). So it's clear that the CT's are the good guys here

the fruit boxes are not found at bombsite A and there is only a couple of the piles of the boxes in B which is a clear minority compared to the other boxes around, not to mention the fruit boxes that are found outside the bombsites, so they are obviously not the target. whoever wrote that on the wiki didn't think it through

Using similar CS logic: If running with a knife in hand and your guns holstered makes you faster than running with nothing with nothing in your hands will make you.... More powerful than you could ever imagine.

The questions is... what happened before the confrontation between the Ts and CTs? You have to take into account the backstory before the planned event of bombing a site.

EDIT: It could be that the CTs have already re-taken the site that has the chemical weapons stored. And the Ts have taken the that opportunity to eliminate the CTs by detonatiting the C4 along with the chemical weapons. Showing off what the Ts can do to the CTs HQ.
