Recommended internet speed to play CS?

How much internet speed is required to play a decent Counter-Strike match online?
I live on an Island and there's only 1 ISP. The average download speed is around 40KBp/s, is that good enough?

I have speed of 9.3 mbps,and it disconnects me for internet connection problem and I reconnect again and after 5 minutes again it disconnects me! Can someone help me with this pls?? i forgot Upload speed is 0.02 mbps

you only need 10KB/s up and down.
maybe 12 KB/s if you use the mic a lot.

I checked speed while playing and it was funny low, much lower than 512kbps. It should be good

Old topic but i got 250 Mbps still i have over 30 in ms... so its not all about speed i guess

your system should be good and internet speed i think 1mb minimum would be fine

I played 360kb for half of my life.
Thatd be enough. Would be scared to have lower.
Nowadays people have over 10mb usually.

Your talking about internet speeds meant for googling and sending emails. You probly won't have a good online gaming experience until infrastructure changes
