I know, mate. Such a simple thing, but still a great feature. RIP sprays.
One person posts this on the comment of some youtube video and now everyone says it, the truth is only 1/8 sprays were porn, in fact most servers banned lewd sprays.
To make matters more secure you always had the option of disabling sprays both serverside and clientside.
Please never take the side of a company you're purchasing products from, your content providers should always be under your constant scrutiny. It's healthy for both you and their company, because you get a higher quality product and the company maintains a higher ethic.
Don't provide explanations, even if you already have one in mind, demand that the company provide you with answers.
When people do what you're doing now you inhibit capitalism from functioning properly.
*When people do what you're doing now, you support dictators and communism.
I hope they don't try to monetize on it personally, it's always been free and personalized.
Even if it's "forbidden" people still post it
Then disable sprays on your side, your situation won't change one bit if they enable it because you have that option. The other players that choose not to disable it will simply have access to a feature that should have been there in the first place.
People do post porn although it's more rare than the common anecdotal evidence claims, no one denies that, but that's not a reason to disable sprays. If a server doesn't like sprays they can disable them, and if a user doesn't like them they can do the same.
I advocate keeping sprays disabled on official Valve servers, especially competitive games, but why harm their community? Anything that restricts or takes away freedom from their game's communities simply makes Valve look bad.
There was far to many people using porn / gay porn sprays in CS 1.6 and CSS. People also used decoy sprays and ladder sprays to confuse noobs or to gain an advantage.
The pub I play on has a spray plugin, but the available sprays need to be uploaded by the server.
Personally I would uninstall CS:GO and never purchase another Valve product again if they did that to their customers, you should never be charged for something that is free. "Valve approved sprays" means that they would charge money for workshop sprays.
Previously you had the option of disabling sprays, so unsavory content on some servers shouldn't be an issue.
Once again the problem persists of many people providing excuses for Valve. This thread isn't even about sprays returning in itself, this thread is about Valve providing an official statement about why sprays aren't in the game in the first place. You're a customer, not an employee. Even if you think Valve's decision wasn't unreasonable you shouldn't be against an official answer, it can do nothing but benefit you (the consumer).
No they were in the game originally, it's a part of source engine, but they disabled them.

They should be disabled in competitive mode without a doubt, but for everything else they sould be given the opportunity to be enabled. It would be fine even if they were disabled on a server and client by default, at least they'd be there.
