Why do dinks exist?
After doing an awesome one click on an enemy rushing down cat, I realized that he didn't die. He then proceeds to kill me with a single headshot.

Just why? Why is the m4 magically underpowered? It has no real life basis and doesn't make sense in a skill based game. I'm fine with pistols and SMG's being stopped by helmets, but why would you make *most* of the rifles be able to get consistent one clicks no matter what, and have one that can't?

The game has nothing to do with being realistic... It's an Esport game, they need to balance. And it's idiotic to think that a gun not having 1 shot capabilities is under powered... If that's all that matter, just deagle/scout the entire game.

Most of the rifles will not one click enemies with helmets. AK-47, AWP and scout are some of the exceptions though.

cause as CTs you are most of the time defending a site.

if you could one tap everyone who flows into site, Ts would stand no chance.

althought it is kind of annoying when i full buy and get onetapped by a deagle im not gonna cry about it cause at the end of the day its just a video game

if it bothers you that much just steal an AK

The m4a1 and m4a4 rifles do not 1 shot headshot, but are much more accurate than the ak47 at long ranges. Every rifle has its advantages and disadvantages.

The game isn't based on real life. For example: in real life you can't get shot in the leg and run at 250 ups.

Everyone seems to think I'm complaining because it isn't realistic. No, I'm complaining because it's annoying. I'm just wondering what the intended logic is. I was saying that it can't be realism that they were going for.

And I guess it's not just the M4, the AUG can dink too. The SG552 and the AK47 obviously don't. So I guess it's some weird CT balance meta as someone mentioned?

not every gun is 1 shot kill, not every gun should be 1 shot kill.
how would you feel if the glock was 1 shot kill?

Yes, M4 have better movement, accuracy, recoil control, and recoil stabilization, plus enter a site is more difficult, and getting 1 taped would be imposible for T.

Just 2tap always with m4 if you going for headshots.

A lot of people do not realize that many of the ingame "one taps" are actually not single bullet one taps. More like a quick 2-3 bullet tap. If the killing bullet hits your head, it's a headshot (also it does more damage there than other parts of the body).

Many times I have seen people get quick bursted by other players and cry about one tops and headshot hacks... when actually it can often be 1-2 bullet to chest/throat area then one bullet in the head that kills. I have even watched this in replays when I was curious if they were one tapping or not. It just happens really fast ingame. I do it a lot too. A super fast 2 bullet tap that headshots (I'm not skilled enough for it to be consistent though).

Yes, there are one taps but most of what I see ingame are actually what I described.

Also, it gives the teams armories a different feel. It would suck if playing T and CT felt exactly the same. CT usually have map advantage which is why T have a tiny gun/money advantage (no kits etc).
