What is this 'ding' sound?

Sometimes when I'm playing casual (I don't play competitive, don't know if that matters) I hear this 'ding' sound at random moments, but I have no idea what it means.

Sometimes I hear it while in-game playing/being-dead-waiting, but also when I'm checking community stuff in steam-overlay and even in the cs:go main menu.

It kinda sounds like the killsound in deathmatch, but a bit shorter and not as loud.

I have already determined it is not any (notification) sound you can see/change in steam options (like when you get a message or something) or any of the in-game sounds you can see/change in the cs:go options menu.

I also don't think it's a windows sound, because I only hear it when I'm in the cs:go world (in-game, steam overlay or cs main menu) and it sounds a lot like dm killsound (but clearly not the same).

Anyone else have this, or know what it is? Even suggestions on what it may be are helpful.

I need to know, not knowing but still hearing it is driving me crazy(er).
And also, at this point I'm just curious ^_^

No, that sound I very much recognize ;)

And it has more of a 'dingy' sound, like the killsound in dm.

Yes. I've heard it too in Inferno. But it's not someone shooting the bells. It happens while we are waiting for the count down for the round to begin.

No, it is an easter egg placed by Valve. It was a legend that before the soldiers went to war (I think), bells would ring.

But it sounds nothing like the bell from inferno. I also don't play that map-pool very much so I hear it on all the other maps as well.

It really sounds like some sort of notification sound. I already checked but it's not that someone rates you (in cs:go profile). I thought it would be that for a while but it's not.

Ok little recap:

From these guys here I understand I'm (so far) the only person that sometimes gets a 'dingy' sound for which the source/meaning is unclear/unknown.

It's not a 'bell' sound (like in inferno).

It really sounds a lot like the killsound from deathmatch, but a bit shorter and not as loud.

It really sounds like it has a purpose. It also sounds like it's meant to be a notification sound for something.

It's nothing you can see in steam, or cs:go, options. Also nothing windows related.

I only hear it when playing cs:go, so I think it must be something from cs.

I have never heard it when not in the cs environment.

Maybe it can be a plugin on community servers? I believe casual matchmaking leads you to full community servers, so it could be something like a kill alert sound plugin on the server. I'm probably wrong

But shouldnt I be hearing it more frequently then? It's not consistent, and sometimes I can go for hours and don't hear it.

It sounds like a notification. Could be Facebook messenger? Or something else Skype maybe. I'm pretty sure it's not CS because out of all the hours I played. I have never heard of anything other than those bells in inferno and the deathmatch ding.
