Enable Voice in-game
Windows 8.1
I have a Microsoft Livechat 3000 headset via to my onboard soundchip as default communication device for playback and record
I have my speakers running via soundcard as default sound device

In Steam the settings are all correct and detected correctly - testing seems to work perfectly.

When it comes to CSGO, though,
In order for any voice chat to be heard or spoken, I have always needed to disable the soundcard device and set my headset headphones to be the default playback device and mic to be default recording device.

However, whilst I am able to hear others this way, I am still unable for my voice to be played.

Any ideas?

---

In addition, I have the following set:
voice_enabled 1
voice_mixer_volume 1.0
voice_caster_enabled 1 (Well just for completeness)
sv_voice_enabled 1 (Well just for completeness)

Oh and the push-to-talk always seems to be automatically set every time I start up the game, so I have to change that every time.

I have the same problem. And it seems, I am not the only one.

My mic is set as standard COMMUNICATION device. It works in every other game, TS and Skype. But it doesn't work in CS:GO. So i guess, it's a bug.

Tried to set it as standard device (not only standard communication device) but it also didn't work. But anyway... i have to set "What you hear" as standard device for my gameplay recording hardware and my mic as standard communication device. It works perfectly fine in every other game. Should work in CS:GO too.

that means your config.cfg is in read only mode and wont save changes

check control panel - sound -recording - your mic - microphone level

Yes I know this, but even if I manually edit the config and save it it still is reset on loading the game.

check control panel - sound -recording - your mic - microphone level
This only sets microphone recording volume level - this is not my issue.
