What's with the things like "Feild tested" and "Well worn"?
So, I'm fairly new to cs:go, I got it 2 days ago and only have 6 hours on record. I've been killed alot and I see things on weapons like what I stated in the title. What do these mean and do they have any effect on the weapon?

it's basically wear level.
Battle-scarred is the most amount of wear, factory new is the least.
Weapons like Asiimovs come in FT as the highest quality.

i bet ur silver.
listen here, scrub, you need to make sure your guns always are field tested, since factory new guns haven't been tweaked by pros yet, and battle scarred guns have been messed with too much, making them inaccurate. So, what you want to do is get a field tested gun for every slot you have to makes sure you have the best accuracy, spray control, fire rate, and damage.

Factory new and minimal wear are typically more expensive, and those look less worn out.
Anything you might want to know about skins can be found here-http://counterstrike.wikia.com/wiki/Skins

It's the wear level, or otherwise in simple terms, how much scratches and wear the weapon has. This does not affect the functions, capabilities, damage or speed the gun fires in anyway. It is merely a classification of the weapon quality. Wear also affects the quality and the value of the item on the marketplace. For example, if the weapon is "Well Worn", then the item would likely have a lower price then "Field Tested", since the latter level is higher up on the weapon scale, and therefore has less marks then a well worn one, which is lower on the weapon scale. The weapon scale starts like this (from lowest to highest): First off, Battle Scarred, then Well Worn, next Field Tested, then Minimal Wear. Finally, the highest ever condition is Factory New. There are also wear percentages, and I could go on and on, since it is quite the topic.

Hope this helped you on your entry to CS:GO! Become a wonderful player, and don't fall prey to toxic players who, let's say don't like new players to the series. :csgoglobe:

Ok, so Im guessing you know what Weapon Skins are. They are things that make the guns look different colors and such.

Usually when you start out, you will just get a few light blue skins, or blue skins. The community usually calls the skins value by a color. The colors go from order of least to greatest value: white (default), light blue, blue, purple, pink, red.
Light blues sell for $.04 USD usually. Reds start at in some cases $1 and go up to about $2,000 USD.

The Minimal Wear, Factory New, Field tested... They are merely determining factors of how the gun looks.

The order of skin wear from greatest wear to least wear goes: battle scarred, well worn, field tested, minimal wear, and factory new.
Factory new skins sell for more money, since they look nicer.
Battle scarred sell for less, because they look BAD.

Its like with old furniture and jeans, the amount of wear and tear affects the value. In some cases more wear may actually sell for more, but that is rare.

They do NOT effect the guns performance, as they are entirely aesthetic.

It's pretty obvious what skins do, I just wanted to know if they effected the gun in anyway. Thanks!

By the way, reds go much much higher then $2000. A knife reportedly sold for $32000 and souvenir dragon lore is about $10000.

I was just talking about skins, not knives. I know about those really fancy ones. And I was unaware of the Souvenir Dragon Lore thing, thanks for telling me!
