In Europe playing on U.S Servers. Lowish ping yet the game runs like I have 300+ ping >< ANy advice?

Hi guys. I am from England and I need some advice. I love playing cs:go and I'll admit I am not that amazing but I enjoy it none the less.
I normally hover around Silver 4 and SE1 and normally end up in the top of the table with a positive kill/death ratio. Whenever I join a lobby on my own I normally get a ping around 35-60.

Now I also play with my U.S friends (who are silver 3/4) but the problem is whenever I do..I suck and struggle to get a single kill! My ping is normally around 110-160 which apparently is more than playable. To me as soon as I see a player BOOM i'm dead (not with a deadshot). My friends often comment how bad of a player I am and that I am more like a Silver 1 / 2. When i said "I just saw his arm come around the corner and I was dead" they pretty much said I was lying and covering up how bad I was" -_-. I downloaded and watched the video back.. and I was shocked to see that the guy came around the corner, stood there for about 0.5 of a second and opened fire with a pistol 3 shots and I was dead. I did not see ANY of this in game. I also noticed that the players on the other team were 2/3 silver. I guess you could say "It could also be the other teams are smurfs" but watching the way they played..they were not. If i'd have joined the lobby on my own I guarantee I could have done A LOT better. Another example was in Back ally. I came around the corner, unloaded over half a clip of a p90 into a guys neck and chest at extremely close range.. and it then got killed. It then came up i hit the player ONCE!
I said I think it's my ping but once again just get told "It's normal ping" and "For what you're saying to happen you'd need 300 ping".

I play many games from Europe on U.S servers with ping around the same as the above and never get ANYTHING like this.

I don't know much about networks/pings etc So all of this may sound n00by. However, could somebody just tell me i'm not going mad?! Is it some how possible to have a lowish ping YET get the effects of a high ping? Thanks for any advice - Adam.

110 ping is enough to let that happen to you. You do not need 300 ping for that.

110 ping is really delayed,i used to play on US servers as well and you need to get used to it,and the Hit Registration is bad as well so it will have a delayed registration

Thanks guys! At least I know i'm not going mad! -_- Samething happened lastnight. I came around a corner and found somebody facing the otherway. I aimed my m4 at his head and shot. I heard 2-3 headshots... then he spun around and boom i was dead. The hit meter said that I had hit him once for 20.. -_-

I'm sorry to tell you this but eh .... if they call you noob without understanding why you're having troubles, letthem come play in eu server and give it back to them.

Get a group of friends who are from Europe or where you live to lessen the chance of a US Server

Very true. im saving up all the info I learn here to use when the name calling comes out lol
The odd occasion we have got a euro server I do end up beating them by 10+ kills but then they still point out they do better than I do with the same ping -_-.


On a side note - Would a faster internet speed reduce lag? I currently have a 6-7MB download with 1mb upload internet speed.

Since posting this I have upgraded my broadband. When playing with U.S team mates i must admit the ping/lag has been majorly reduced. I would tell them to upgrade their internet :( apart from that there is nothing you can really do :(
