CS GO Fatal Error failed to connect to local steam client process

Hi,
everytime I launch CSGO I get the error in the title. Before that I got the error: This game requires steam! , even though I got the game legit, my steam is up to date and I have already reinstalled my CS and my Steam... all other games (including CSS) are working perfectly fine.
Help please

Guys and girls, i fixed it for myself, try this.
Go to your Steam library, right click on CS:GO (if that is the game you are having problems with) -> manage -> Browse local files -> Right click on csgo APP -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> and remove the little box Run this program as an administrator.
It did good for me, my game runs now.

Go to steam library and leftclick on csgo then manage - browse local files - then press(leftclick once to mark the .exe) rightclick on the csgo.exe then go to properties and then to compatibility. there you look if its set as "run as administrator" if it is, click the box next to it to uncheck it. It worked for me so i hope it does for you too :D

When I changed compatibility with w7 to a default(w10), it works. I hope this helps anyone <3

nothing here works on my pc, i have already tried every kind of compatibility for Steam.exe and csgo.exe; I have already tried to log out of the account; also to uninstall and reinstall both steam and cs go; I tried to delete the temporary files; check the cache of cs go and immediately go to the top right and exit .... but none of this did not work


Edit; after several tries i decided to switch from W10 to W11 and worked fine.

not a single piece of advice in this entire 5 year old and 17 pages long thread can resolve this bug. it's amazing that over all those years so many threads (also on reddit and so on) appear where people have this problem and nobody ever found the cause

If this is even relevant anymore, I have found for myself that having RivaTuner Statistics Server (and/or MSI Afterburner) running does not allow the game to launch. Unsure if it is Afterburner or RTSS because Afterburner automatically restarts RTSS but either way, having them closed launches the game right away.
