Cant play Demos

Hey guys, i downloaded several demos to watch, i put the file in the cs go folder and write playdemo "name".dem but it say it cant read the file... i go shortly in loading screen but then i drop back in mainmenu, someone know how to fix it?

You can try watching it trough watch (top menu bar) -> downloaded -> then just left click and watch demo if that doesnt work restart the game or maybe even steam

it isnt listed in downloaded and steam or cs go restart dont help either :(

When you say you put the demo file in the "cs go folder" do you put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo and not C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive?

i downloaded a CEVO match, and put it exactly where i was told, following your steps, but it will simply not let me watch it, it keeps saying in console that it cant open the file for reading

Is there a link to this CEVO match demo download so I can try it to see if it works on my PC?

not relevant anymore, but just delete all the spaces in the filename and the demo will play

ur actually a legend

I fixed this by typing "demoui" (Shift + F2) in the console and clicking on load. Then you choose the demo you want.
