Premiere = completely new ranking system, placement matches to obtain new rank.
Competitive = select your map and we'll have the existing ranking system use, with most likely a rank per map, so you'll get a true verti global.
Can we see some proof as links and/or screenshots, please? A global reset throughout all gamemodes should apply at best. Not just Premier, it doesnt even include dust2.. or does it? No carry overs at best in general, a whole reset, except Inventory and maybe XP of course ..
Everyone knows the current Competitive Ranking System and so its Match Maker are broken, especially for returners.. So for CS2, a "returning Rank" should NOT be applied, too!!
A whole wipe is neccessary .. new engine, new brand, new gameplay, new ranks ..
And a update to the official notes from Valve would be really appreciated as well ..
Sometimes its okay to be wrong!
Hopefully at a whole, completely wiped throughout all gamemodes.
the csgo mode will be rank reset.
premier - elo system seasonal resets. first season is beta season.
map ranks - all maps have their own rank from silver to global.
u can play either mode, and u can have like 6-8 map globals and a premier elo in cs2.
I pity people "who english like this", especially while trying to offend others.. (i mean, i get that its not your native language, but its not mine either)
Aaaanywaaaay, people probably think that because:
- Its currently an update to CS:GO
- It uses the same inventory
- Its essentially the same game with a graphical upgrade, theres not enough "new things" to justify an actual new standalone game in the series.
- They have done this in the past (Dota2 "reform update" was a update from Source1 to Source2, in a lesser extend CSS and some of their other titles have seen several Source1 engine updates/overhauls too, all without ever becoming "new games")
There's also a situation going on around Russia that im sure you're aware of that means Steam no longer sells games there, with how many Russians play CS (even if so many do nasty things..) it would be a strange decision for Valve to go "okay you gotta buy this new game now" when its clearly able to just be an update (because it is right now) they would be shafting a fairly sizable portion of their current player-base by making it a new title.
Even though i sorta mentioned this already its worth underlining, a new title would indicate an actually notable change, and from what we've seen so far that simply doesn't exist, nicer smoke and better sync (which at the moment doesn't even seem to work?) are not enough reason for a 'new game', better graphics COULD be a reason, but its really hard to justify that when you're literally playing the same maps etc??
And its not like Valve desperately needs money from their own IP's to stay afloat (and they are well aware that the average Steam user knows this) so while this might feel like (for lack of better example) "similar to a new COD" its nothing like that, we are getting mostly the same thing because they know that's what works (and lets be real, its cheaper) & they are not the kind of company that runs on re-selling slightly updated maps (like COD or BF tend to do) instead they only re-sell when there are properly big changes (1.6 to CSS & CSS to CS:GO both made BIG changes, but CS:GO to CS2? it just looks a bit nicer but beyond that its the same thing?)
And there is a point to play CSGO if u wanna be competitive. The aim is more or less the same and nades if you practice them. If u play just for rank, then no, not really worth it.
