MacOS is a FreeBSD fork, which is Linux, and faceit anti-cheat, like BattlEye and many others only work on Windows. if you have x86_64 architecture you can install Windows in dual boot using grub or any other capable boot loader of choice

I think faceit ac also checks if it's running in a virtual machine and refuses to work if so
battleye and easy anti cheat work for both linux and mac os
I tried playing PUBG and EFT using Wine/Proton and both of them failed to start because of BattlEye

never tried EAC thus didn't say anything about it

that's on the developers not implementing it.

linux just has too much tools compared to windows that could be used to hack and that are completely transparent to the user/programs running as that user, even with modifying game files — the most evil thing you can do in windows is a symbolic link, but in linux you can have symbolic links too, hard links which modify both files at different locations at the same time, overlay file systems!!, file handle swaps for open processes, etc etc, not regarding files — much more advanced virtualization, simpler OS architecture overall (for example you could make it so plain simple by configuring your own kernel that you could literally use Meltdown vulnerability to read from csgo process, without even ever injecting! and you could fake the feature being turned on just for the faceit anticheat), and much more things and quirks I don't even know about yet…

linux is just too powerful, there's no way they could support it without letting a lot of cheaters in… Valve's VAC supports Linux, and a specific very popular free and open-source Linux cheat existed for years being undetected, until they have made improvements to their anti-cheat of course, imagine what would happen if faceit tried that too? like, come on, there are enough cheaters already who use those either self-coded or really small really private cheats (because faceit ac team actively seeks out cheats on the internet, and might as well buy them to add them to their detected cheats db)
it's totally possible to detect cheats in linux, might be even easier.
why so? and how? by making an anti-cheat even more intrusive than Valorant's somehow? how exactly are you planning to tell whether or not some other completely unrelated process on the system is scanning the game's process memory without even telling anyone? even if the anticheat works as root it just wouldn't be able to tell

well, I don't know and never heard of a single BattlEye-protected game that can at least start on linux

Nothing you can do then format to windows, BC every anti cheat it's made for it, there it's not reason for faceit to lose money on Mac/Linux when it's a small community that are using it. If they could get more love that should maybe happen but that won't happen for many years.

Too much work for so few players in those systems.
still i mean they couldve atleast made it work with wine but no
no they couldnt, as this will open the door for cheating and circumventing the AC through the host system.

MacOS is a fork of FreeBSD, which is itself a fork of Linux
UNIX -> Linux -> FreeBSD -> MacOS
almost everything that applies to Linux applies to MacOS (unless they do so that users won't be able to gain root access to their system at which point I wouldn't be even surprised to be honest)
