Input-Delay Linux vs. Windows
With Linux CS:GO has a notable input delay with mouse which makes it hard to use awp. With Windows its much faster, close to instant, Linux has at least a 4-6ms delay. Either with raw-input or non-raw.

Is this a common bug or a "feature"?

You are welcome. At least someone has the same issue and don't ♥♥♥♥♥ around with the OP.
Xorg 1.19 has the threaded input patch, try it to see if your issue remains.

Hey pewpew, ran into this thread trying to track down a similar issue with Rust, I can notice the lag from Ubuntu 16.04 with Gnome simply by starting the game client, the whole system starts to lag enough that you can easily tell simply by moving the mouse around before/after client launch.

I resolved this type of lag issue in CS:S with a console command
gl_finish 1
each time I played, apparently it's not in CS:GO which is part of why I didn't get into that version.

I'm currently trying to find out if there's a way to increase priority to the mouse input process or something over the Rust game engine... but these are quite different engines, anyway.

Quick question to the other fella 'I am a MSI RX 480x' or what ever, and this is a rhetorical question for you mate so you'll know you got the answer wrong if you reply, but: what the hell is wrong with you?

Hey, did anyone manage to solve this problem? I'm running CS on Manjaro and I'm having horrible input lag from the mouse. The lag is on the order of 100's ms and the game is completely unplayable. It even hurts my wrist because of my brain not understanding why the mouse on screen is moving while the physical hand has stopped :s

On Windows I did not have any problems like this using the same hardware.

Nope, switched to Windows. Tried Arch, Antergos, Manjaro and Ubuntu - same same.

so what? You can still notice that the game is smoother on Windows then on Linux if there is a delay

use your head for a second here. A delay of 120-500 ms is noticeable as 500 ms is 0.5 of a second and yeah that is noticeable but 0.004 of a second is not. OP claimed something impossible and im merely calling him out on it.

Believe him if you wish, science begs to differ.
Are you retarded? You are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ audio blah blah ♥♥♥♥♥♥ then. Play osu! for years and you will notice even 1ms if you play on 144hz monitor. Stop lying to people. Anyway i've got less input lag on linux, on windows 10 the input lag is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pain in my fat ass.
Yeah, yeah impossible to notice, scientifically proven my a$$, the human eye can only see 24 frames blablabla... I can tell you instantly if v-sync is on... It's not about the exact milliseconds, but it's obvious and it feels mushy and bad, I don't even understand why it's enabled by default, it's such a fun destroying feature for me it's ridiculous. Mouse smoothing and heavy features like ambient occlusion are bad as well as frames per second in general. It's even worth to go way over what your monitor can display... You get less input lag on a 60Hz Monitor if you play on 180 frames compared to 70. And of course 4-6 ms are good overall, but 20-30ms more should be noticable by some people though, and there are a lot of components in series that add up to that value, so for many gamers this is an issue, and it's amplified for those with an older PC. Somebody played Need For Speed Shift 2? They had this unfixable input lag, so after playing around with the settings, and modifying some text files I uninstalled without even completing the tutorial... I'm baffled how they could develop a whole game like this, without noticing the floaty feel. That's an extreme example, but there are plenty of engines that get it right like the Overwatch engine or the Unreal engine (still, you have to turn off v-sync). Fallout is another bad one... There are workarounds to massively reduce the lag here, but then lock picking is slightly bugged (?)... To me it looks like this is under-appreacheated issue in general...
