Really bad and distorted bass on c4 explosion
So... i was getting used to having my ears raped with bad sound quality when the bomb exploded, but then i got a new headset and tought it would get better, but it went worse. Now, everytime the bomb goes off my ears go off too. The sound is horrible. Any ideas? the other audio sources from the game seems fine.

My headset is a Fortrek Tarantula.

Play around with your equalizer software/get a decent sound card

Apparently the sound effect is too much for your headset. You can either use a different one, or change your soundcard, or use an qualizer to change freqeuncies.

Or just hope it's broken and return it to get a new one I guess.

Maybe it's just too loud, too.

What's your snd_mixahead setting?

Maybe reinstall sound drivers, could help as well.

I never used that config before. If you tell me where it is i can find out.

If that's the case maybe i can turn down that specific sound?

It's in the console. If you haven't changed it it's probably not the reason. If you want less delay to your sound effects, lower the value a bit, but the sound can get a bit distorted if it's too low. If your sounds distort a bit, increase the value. I'm using 0.06, the default is 0.10.

Well my fps does stutter when the round ends. To try and fix that i deleted my cs go and re-installed on my ssd, gonna test eventually, then i'll keep you updated.

Ok i think i solved, what i did was first re-installed my cs go on ssd ( so it would go back to default values and the game stopped stuttering and then tried using snd_mixahead 0.11
