Complaint About Elite Ranking System in Counter-Strike 2
Hi everyone,

I have a complaint about the ranking system in Counter-Strike 2, and I’m hoping someone here might help. Over the last 3 days, I played a total of 16 matches, winning 10 and losing 6 (which gives me a win rate of 62.5%). My performance was pretty consistent too; I earned around 25 MVPs. In 13 out of the 16 matches, I scored over 45 points and averaged 15-20 kills per game. I also had a 7-game win streak during this time.

However, despite my solid performance, I was ranked at 2561. What I don’t understand is how players with worse stats were placed in ranks above 10,000. Since I didn’t have a rank, I had to play with whoever the system matched me with. That’s why I feel the initial ranking system is unfair.

I’m curious to know what criteria are used for ranking placement and if anyone else has experienced something similar. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

First off, opponents ranks are huge in determining rank if you did all this against 1k’s then no need for higher then what you got, second if you were new when you got the rank it is much harder to get higher then low silver on competitive so similar likely applies to premier
Edit: personal performance also doesn’t matter cs is a team game you went 10-6 which is not the best wr has huge impact . You also said people with worse stats got higher, stats are all dependent on the opponent’s skill levels going 5-15 against 15k’s is much better then 15-5 against 1k’s etc

It looks like you are right where you belong.
My rank last season was 8000. In most of the games I played in season 2, I played with unranked people like myself, that is, I played with whoever the game matched me with. If this performance were at 5000 instead of 2500, I would still say it would be a fair approach, but 2500 is too low.

Moreover, most of my friends who had similar performance and rankings in the first season reached ranks between 8-13 thousand in the second season.
