On top of that, there’s the toxic behavior of teammates: constant bullying, swearing, and people leaving the game for no reason at all. It’s so common that you can’t even get into a game without five players. And when we, as a full team of five, enter the game, we can’t seem to climb past MG rank. Back in the day, we climbed to Legendary Eagle, and in Wingman, some of us even reached Supreme with friends. Now, we’re stuck in Nova 3 and losing our minds. There isn’t a single day we’re not affected by the toxicity.
Unfortunately, we can’t reach anyone in charge. I’ve shared in-game clips on social media—formerly known as Twitter, now X—but I’ve never received any response. The in-game reporting system is utterly useless. It feels like shouting at a wall. Even if you report cheaters dozens, or even millions of times, it seems to have no impact.
We used to have Overwatch in the game, where we could at least serve as moderators and contribute to catching cheaters. But they’ve taken that away from us too.
When CS2 was announced, we were expecting 128-tick servers, improved graphics, and enhanced physics dynamics. Yes, those are great. I was even telling my friends that six months after CS2’s release, all the cheaters would get mass-banned, and we’d see a cleaner game. I was genuinely excited and optimistic about Valve gathering all cheaters’ data for a massive permanent ban wave.
But now, I’ve come to realize that matchmaking is broken, and no real effort has been made to improve the anti-cheat system. VAC bans are just a myth. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m forced to quit a game that’s been so legendary and close to my heart. I’m truly sad. A game of this caliber shouldn’t have fallen to this state. :/
