How to best get into CS2 as a new player?

Howdy all!

Before I start, I wanna say that I DO have experience with the FPS genre as a whole. I've played Team Fortress 2 actively for a little over 2 years, but I've been feeling burnt out from it lately and want a nice change of pace. I simply haven't touched a match of CS itself.

I've been getting into Counter-Strike YouTube content as a whole as well (PHY, Penguin, Goldec, etc) so that has also sparked some interest in the game for me. However, it all feels so intimidating to me. The menu feels super daunting with how many options there are, the game play seems like it would have a lot of stakes and I don't want to disappoint my team for being a newbie, general toxicity...it's all just a lot, so I want to be able to start off on the right foot and have fun in my own way.

Would Casual 10v10 be best since it would require overall less coordination? Would muting chat be better in these settings because of that? I just wanna know the best experience for a new player that will also cut back on bigotry/general vitriol while not sacrificing the quality of the game for myself and others.
