How do VAC live cooldowns work?
This question is about ”Your partied with a player whose gameplay has been flagged by VAC as irregular”, not ”VAC has flagged your gameplay as irregular”

Here are a few questions I have regarding VAC live cooldowns:

1. Do VAC live cooldowns reset?
For example, if I get two cooldowns that result in a 3-day suspension (Level 2), and then I don’t receive any cooldowns for a month, will it reset back to Level 1 (21-hour cooldown)?
    - Not known yet, most likely no.
2. Can I get permanently banned?
If so, how many cooldowns are required before a permanent ban is issued?
    - Not known yet
3. Do the cooldown durations increase over time?
I’ve heard that the maximum cooldown is 14 days. Does the duration double with each subsequent cooldown, or how exactly does it scale?
    - Answered : 21h -> 3Days -> 7Days -> 14days -> 45days -> 181 days -> To be discovered

I’m curious because I’ve heard claims that cooldowns don’t reset, and that you can eventually receive a permanent ban over time. This seems unfair, especially since it’s possible to get banned just for playing with random people.

Still looking for answers, nothing has been found.[/b]

1. yes cooldown levels go down 1 by 1 when you get XP and with time.

2. vaclive bans are not permament ( for now atleast )

3. 14 days is max but your cooldown level still go higher and higher

VAC Live cooldowns don't have any levels, they are global and are always 20 hours.

If you're talking about automatic regular cooldowns, then read this:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=373180094

Also griefing cooldowns have it's own separate level counter. Griefing cooldowns start at warning message, then 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, ... and 14d cooldown the maximum. Griefing cooldowns, unlike regular ones, don't reset over time.

You can be permanently banned only for cheating, boosting or a client automation.
None of regular or griefing cooldowns can lead to a permanent ban.

bear in mind if you cheat and get cooldown its means trust factor is beyond red. do not cheat

My trust factor is fine, but there will always be that one guy who closet cheats and ends up with VAC live

You mentioned that 14 days is the maximum (Level 4), but then said it can go higher? That doesn't make much sense, lol

vaclive cooldowns do not stack
they are a set 20 hour cooldown always.

2. There is no set number of times before a permaban.
You can however be handed a overwatch ban during the duration of the cooldown.

vaclive to my knowledge triggers a demo to be sent to the private overwatch team. rage cheaters that get it usually get banned in the coming days/weeks

also yes I know I didn’t address your original post, but adding some context

Maximum cooldown is 181 days, it's not 14 days, even if u are flagged or party it doesnt matter, the new added cooldown days are 45 and 181, it doesn't matter if u have lvl 1,2,3 cooldown, u can have 0 and still be getting 181 days

Does anyone know if these times will ever go down again?

After how long without incidents does the level go down again? I haven't vac live for 3 months and it hasn't gone down.
