Extreme Net Jitter Issues

I recently decided to get back into CS. A few days ago, I was playing and everything was completely normal. Now, when I play online matches, I have very bad Net Jitter multiple times per minute. My ping will spike from like 30ms to 170ms+ for like three seconds multiple times. It also seems to be worse during peak hours.

I have already tried the "buffering to smooth over packet loss" and a few other attempts to help mitigate it, but nothing has worked.

These lag spikes ONLY happen on CS2. I have zero issues on any other game. Would love opinions or fixes on this. Here are my PC specs too:

AMD Ryzen 9 7900x
Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard
32gb RAM
AMD Radeon RX 7800XT

Pretty sure its just the game. I have the same issue with a older PC and like you its only with CS2.

No ethernet installed? That's your problem if so.

I’m currently experiencing the same issue. It just started a week ago. The game is currently unplayable due to net jitter. I tested my packet loss with a site and it states I’m experiencing 0 packet loss with internet speeds of 400mbps. There is not reason I should be experiencing bandwidth issues.

My internet ms, download speed, and upload speed are quite good. I play valorant, and it seems that CS2 is mainly the issue itself.. Nothing really that we can do except to wait for game patches that can hopefully fix the problem.

10 year old laptop, 2 month old dekstop, wireless or ethernet...etc tried it all - net jitters happening on 4-15 ping. Uncurable thing that its Valves problem.

Every 5-6 min, my ping spike from 30 to 170-180.Also, net jitters. At first, I thought it was an issue with my internet. Then, I realized that when I play other online games like Valorant and Dota 2, they never lag. So, I assume the problem is CS2 itself.

Same here. Real cancer. I can play other game just fine without stutters but not CS2. CS:GO havent done this neither that game was a real gem.

I found that if you set your maximum ping to what you nearest server is then it will help reduce jitter. You may have to wait longer for matches but id choose that over an unplayable game.

Probally a lag switch cheat. That is someone using a cheat against you in said match.
Especially if it only happen in cs

Same problem. during peak hours, at night here i get horrible lag and this game is unplayable. cant play cs with friends...
no issues in other games and had no issues in cs go too. Cs2 was fine at first too. but then something happened around 2-3 months ago. Unreliable and ♥♥♥♥. please fix valve.

What kind of internet you all use?im sharing my phone internet and its 5g. Ive had it for years and no problems in other games. im trying to think is the new cs2 kind of more bandwith thirsty? requires more internet upload/download speed? cuz of larger packets? (packet loss) and jitter issues too
