low fps on a powerful PC
I have an i5 12400f and rtx 3080 (16 GB ram 3200 MHz, 1 TB ssd)
on my system, it gets me 200-220 fps on the mirage in deathmatch, which is pretty low, in videos on YouTube on the same systems the values reach 350-370 fps
but a friend with his budget build of an i3 12100f and 2060 gets 350 frames, which is strange, because his hardware is much worse
I don't have any miners, I checked
the resolution doesn't matter, because in both cases it's processor bottleneck, both cards can output cs in 2k res with no problem
so tell me, what is the problem with the PC or what am I doing wrong?

That’s definitely weird, considering your setup should be pulling much higher FPS. It sounds like something is bottlenecking your system—maybe a power setting, background process, or even RAM speed if XMP isn’t enabled. Also, check if your GPU is being fully utilized in-game and make sure your NVIDIA settings are optimized for performance. CS2 is pretty CPU-heavy, so even though your 12400F is solid, certain settings or background tasks might be holding it back. Try monitoring your temps and usage while playing, and maybe reset some game settings to see if it helps. Let us know what you find!

hello?

220 fps is pretty good, considering the i5 wasent top tier when it was released 3 years ago.

The 3080 shouldn't have any problems though.
What is cpu temps if too hot it will throttle.
Could be dust blocking the fans or even a cheap power supply or badly applied thermal paste.
Good luck.

Windows debloat, NVIDIA drivers debloat... Search for performance settings in NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL.
For CS CPU speed is more important. Your CPU isn't the best. Saying that it's not the worst either. Research debloating the operating system as others have said.

Third party anti-virus software and other unnecessary background programs can slow down games.

Buy a new more powerful PC then.

I doubt that your friend playing in 2K resolution .
Also, I dont think that CS 2 is well optimised for newer intel cards and RTX GPUs .
Solution that could probably make you get more FPS :
Change in Windows everything to 1920 x 1080 ,same as Monitor ,in Nvidia , also in game .
