Why do the demo controls close automatically?

When I press Shift+F2 or use demoui the controls open but close again after about 2 seconds and there is almost no window to interact with them. This isnt how its supposed to be, right?
Can someone help me please

CSTV demos work fine and pressing shift+f2 switches between hide, minimal and show all but demoui seems to be broken for pov demos.
It auto-closes for me too

I tried it now and the demo controls do not auto close for me.

So only selected special people. Like me. damn.
I tried on my gf's PC with her steam account and was the same issue.
It only works when recorded from CSTV/GOTV/HLTV or what is the name now (so probably also when downloaded from official matches). but if you record yourself on private server it's screwed.

Yeah I see what you mean now. My CSTV/GOTV/Hltvc demos work fine.

But on the other hand, if I record a POV demo in an online server then the game stops for a couple of seconds. Then I try and record a POV demo again and it seems to work. But I noticed my gun firing sounds do not playback when I try and rewatch a pov demo. But my demo controls do not autoclose.

When I rewind my POV demo, my game crashes. POV demo recording doesn't work properly on online deathmatch, my screen partially freezes. The game sounds play normally and I can open the main menu but my view of the game is frozen.

That sounds like a tricky situation! It seems like there might be some inconsistencies with POV demo recording in online deathmatch.
It's important to note that Valve is constantly working to improve CS2, so these issues will likely be addressed soon. In the meantime, it's best to stick with recordings from CSTV/GOTV/HLTV for a more reliable experience.
