How is counterstrike different than Call of Duty?

No respawning, no regenerating health, MUCH more competitive gameplay, weapon recoil much higher, communciation via mic more important, no killstreaks, YOU get better at the game, not your character, etc.

The main difference is that Call of Duty is a casual, easy game that no one takes seriously. A new one comes out every year and takes 90% of the content from the previous game. CS:GO does have a casual mode, but it's still far more difficult than CoD. Counterstrike takes a high amount of skill and patience to actually get good. And you always have the chance to make money from this game by selling your dropped weapon skins (check the CS:GO market on steam. Some things sell for up to $400 I think).

Both have pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ communities but I think most people can see that the CS:GO community has less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people in comparison to CoD.

TL;DR = CoD: Easy and Casual, easy to learn. CS:GO: Difficult to learn, difficult to play. High learning curve.

If you want an easy game, go with CoD. If you want to invest a lot of time into something so that you can be considered a 'skilled' player, go with CS:GO. Also, there's a new CoD every year. Why have to pay $60 just to keep up with most players every year?

No, in the community of CS you are judged by nationality or age, regardless of skill. Almost all the other games except dota have no such problems.
