"Subticks" need to be removed, NOW!
I have had a theory for a while on why subticks are even a thing, considering most modern PC's can run the game above 128 ticks, and recently I came to a conclusion based on my observations during gameplay.

SUBTICKS DON'T EXIST!

Valve has been using a marketing term to justify them still using their aging servers for competitive play. What I mean by this is, there is no dynamic sending of packets whatsoever. I see this anytime I use an AWP or peek corners. What is undoubtedly happening is that Valve is running their possibly near 20 year-old servers to their absolute limits with this game, by simply running it at an uncapped framerate, and labeling frame-time spikes as "subticks" or "dynamic allocation of packets".

Having played on community 128-tick servers myself, I can, without a doubt say, that Valve's official servers seem to struggle running the game near 64 ticks much less 128. They need to be upgraded as soon as possible to maintain a constant 128fps in calculating game logic, but I doubt Valve will. This game is simply a digital casino after all, and Valve is doing the bare minimum to keep the game alive whilst most of their effort is dedicated to working on a dead-on-arrival, complicated hero shooter that NO ONE asked for.

It is a genuine shame what has happened to this game, and I doubt its' current state will change anytime soon due to the clear stagnation in development. The game is still lacking content that should have been there day 1, such as De_Cache, and the infrastructure of this game is absolute garbage, running on layers of duct tape held together by hopes.

Things need to change, and they need to change NOW.

I doubt things will change anytime soon i mean i think it's been 2 years or so since cs2 came out and look what we have ingame, were a really long way from matching csgo, i think atleast 4 to 6 years..

First-hand experience sticks with you. This was also around the time that zooming in with scopes would cause a huge frame-time spike, that took months to eventually fix. I still come back to this game when they add new maps sometimes to see if they fixed the overall gunplay yet and they really haven't. I get Valve is slow to update their titles, but this is absolutely embarrassing for being the MOST-PLAYED game on steam.
