Yep, you can't even talk about official companies trying to get rid of the cheat and you get forum ban yeah, they try to hide the cheat problem but yeah, we all experience it

Depends on the game but shadow bans can mean that you are banned from the game and just playing against other cheaters.

Some games can allow you to search game but you will never found a game.
