Should CS2 Rewards Be Improved?
I've been playing a lot of CS2 lately, and while the core gameplay is still amazing, the reward system feels a bit underwhelming compared to the time and effort players put in. Especially after matches or in events, it feels like the drops and case rewards aren't as satisfying as they could be.

Would it make sense for Valve to improve the rewards? Maybe better case odds, more frequent drops, or new kinds of progression rewards (like weapon skins for milestones, exclusive stickers, badges, etc.)?
It could help keep players more engaged long-term instead of just grinding for rank or occasional cases. Right now it feels like you can play hours and barely get anything interesting.

What do you guys think? Should CS2 get a better reward system or are things fine the way they are?

I think that would inflate the amount of all items and therefore make them worthless like they were in csgo

Giving weapon skins a direct, real monetary value was the worst thing Counter Strike as a franchise has bestowed upon PC gaming. Instead of appreciating the weapon color and pattern they've unboxed, people flock to its direct value on the steam marketplace and weep when they realize they didn't break even for the 300th time.

Instead of trading based on ever evolving taste and rarity like "Oh, you have four blues? I have one purple, let's make a deal." People are frantically trading because they're in a rat race to grab more and more Steam Wallet Funds every day or else fall from grace.

Instead of players treating collection of skins and agents like fond memories, it has more often than not, been used to launder illegitimate money siphoned through third party sites that are well aware of the dark presence.

With that being said, giving too much rewards to players would flood the market and devalue everything. Which, :missing: I'd be down for that.

Well alot would stop cheating if there was no money to gain on it 😉.. The downfall of CS gameplay is the lootboxes and skins
It's significantly better than from CS:GO, you can choose the rewards and be happy about it.

No.
Valve should remove the free cases from weekly drops so bot farms become useless.
Even better to make all drops non-tradable and non-marketable like they did in Dota2.

Only bought items and items recieved by gambling should be tradable and marketable, there should be no free money. No free money = no farm bots and less cheaters.

You have zero understanding or knowledge about this situation. This is what prevented game from dying. Valve knows what they are doing and keeping game alive.

Did I say that the game was dying because of it?

Cool take on the skin economy, but I was asking if CS2 rewards should actually be improved. Like, should the game give better drops or more incentives to play—not whether the market needs to crash.

SO you never wanted Valve to grow as a company?

Valve has Steam. You can buy games and DLCs, and even hardware like Steam Deck and the VR Index. In CS2, you can still unbox crates, invest in armory passes, and trade amongst other players without marketplace intervention. All the marketplace has done, on top of what I mentioned before, is take away the focus of Counter Strike as a tactical shooter.

what a weird convoluted way of not only saying that you stack zero bread, but also that you don’t understand everything skins has done for the game and the community

not once in this did you consider how much money skin artists make, or the content creators that get paid from sponsorships from trading sites, or how much money the pro scene gets from sticker capsules.

content creators get sponsorships from scummy third party sites that do what would get Valve sued. (Refer to CoffeeZilla, and Houngunge.)

The Pro scene is full of corruption, from the same third party sites strong arming their leverage from actually paying their share to advertise, to showing advertisements during a moment to lament over a death involving a car crash. Did I mention Adderall overdoses from contestants?

Skin artists I'm okay with. Like how people can get their maps in official matchmaking thanks to the CS2 team offering to buy it. Valve can buy weapon skins just the same without marketplace intervention.
