Cooldown’s Over, But Now I Lost 5000 Points?
Quick update from my previous post about the unexpected 20 hour cooldown.

The cooldown is over now, but I just found out my account got hit with a 5000 point deduction. No explanation, no notification just quietly gone

I was already confused about the cooldown itself, and now this just makes it worse. If this is somehow related to VacNet 3.0 testing, it’s pretty alarming that it can penalize players this heavily without giving any sort of feedback or reason

Has anyone else lost points like this after a cooldown? Did you manage to get any answers from Valve? Would appreciate any info or shared experiences :steamsad:

That's quite a surprise, to be sure. A 5000 point deduction is significant! To get clarity on this, I suggest reaching out to Valve Support directly through the Steam platform. They'll have access to your account details and can provide specific information about the point deduction. VACNet 3.0 is constantly being refined, so there could be unforeseen adjustments happening behind the scenes. Patience is key here – they'll get back to you with a proper explanation. :steamhappy:

Thanks For Reading My Insight.
VAC has flagged your gameplay as irregular
Players who VAC determines as having irregular gameplay will be disconnected from the match and receive a minimum one day competitive cooldown regardless of their current cooldown level.

Cooldowns issued for irregular gameplay prevent access to all game modes for the duration of the cooldown.

Note: players who receive a VACnet cooldown will have their CSR adjusted regardless of if they, or a player they partied with, caused the match to be canceled.

VAC flagged a member of your party's gameplay as irregular
Players who party with someone who is disconnected for irregular gameplay will receive the same minimum one day competitive cooldown as the disconnected player regardless of their current cooldown level.

Cooldowns issued for partying with a player who VAC disconnects for irregular gameplay prevents access to all game modes for the duration of the cooldown.

Note: players who receive a VACnet cooldown will have their CSR adjusted regardless of if they, or a player they partied with, caused the match to be canceled.

Thanks for the explanation. I understand now that someone in my party was flagged by VAC for irregular gameplay, and that’s why I received the same cooldown. However, I truly hope Valve considers improving transparency on who triggered the VAC flag. As players, we deserve to know if our teammate was cheating or if it was a false detection. Right now, we’re left completely in the dark, even after checking everyone’s Steam profile no bans, nothing suspicious
This kind of punishment feels unfair when we play legit and just happened to queue with a friend.

Yeah. I guess I’ll have to take it up with Steam Support directly then.
Just wish there was a bit more clarity from VACNet when something like this happens especially when it affects CSR and all game modes.
5000 points down without actually doing anything wrong (or knowing who triggered it) is kind of frustrating.
Anyway, thanks for the info I’ll open a support ticket and hope they can shed some light on this.

well, there is a way to determine who was the reason, because the "reason" gets a different ban reason — "Your gameplay was deemed to be irregular by VAC" or something like that, and people in that player's party get a different ban reason — something like "A player's gameplay in your party was deemed to be irregular by VAC"

if everybody claims that they all get the second variant — there's an impostor among you :DDD shhhhh…
