How does the premier ranking work?

I ranked 11,000 or so in premier and was playing with a buddy for a probably half of the games. He played well and sometimes better than me. He only ranked around 3k and now we can not play together. Is there a way to get something equivalent to a double rank up or something where he would get a jump of like 1000 or more or will it just take him ages to catch up at like 300 per win? Also is there no way of playing such as having a full party like ranked was?

There is a way , but you must play solo and throw away matches, or play bad ,and lose on purpose .. And that is not fair to CS 2 playerbase .
I faced players who doing things like that in my matches .
11 K and 3 K is a huge difference .
Better break up your friendship , and play fair with someone else ...

i'm not sure I also want to know that. I saw online that the you cant be twice the rank of the lower player but idk if that is true. in that case if my buddy is 3000 and im 12000 he would need to climb to 6000 to play with me.

One way is to let the rating expire and then re-calibrate. I was 16k at some point, didn’t play any Premier for like a month, lost my rank, then played 1 match and got placed at 20.9k I think.
