Connecting to the counter-strike network

I'm having doubts that anyone is gonna be able to find a reason as to what's happening to me but you never know.

I have been playing CS2 for a few weeks now with my PC connected to the WiFi with barely any problems. The other day my game seemed laggy so I wanted to try and plug in CPLs to get better stability. Yesterday I plugged them in, and when testing my internet (speedtest), I realised that it was slower than with the WiFi... But like really slow lol so I just unplugged them and went back to WiFi. And I have no idea if it can be related or not, but ever since then, I haven't been able to connect to a server, I launch the game and then a few seconds later the message "Connecting to the CS network" appears. What's weirder is that it seems to be disconnecting (steam tells me "no connection" and my pfp has no green or blue around it) me from steam only when the game is "visible". Like if I minimize the game but it still runs in the background, steam reconnects. As soon as I magnify the game again, boom, doesn't want to connect to steam.
And right before I typed this message, I tried plugging my CPLs differently to get a better speed and it seems to be working, I've been able to play a game.

I hope my problem is clear, I know it's weird asf..
