Massive FPS drops after GPU upgrade, game is unplayable
I recently bought an Intel arc a770 16gb GPU after many years of gaming on a radeon 380x, so a big step up (or so I thought).

After installing drivers etcetera it was time to test CS2, which with the old graphics card performed around 180 fps on low settings. I enter and the menus are smoother than ever and after going into a match my hopes were high, but as soon as I started walking around for a bit and shooting I noticed that everytime something happened on the map, walking, shooting etcetera, my frames dropped from 250 to 20 for a moment, and the game was completely unplayable.

Didn´t bother me at first since I was thinking that the new GPU needs some optimizing. I started with reinstalling the game, then reinstalling windows, then I got desperate and tried older drivers, I tried using different DP ports, updated BIOS and made different BIOS settings, I verified CS2 files and I did everything I could find on the internet for my problems and NONE of it worked the slightest.

Im getting extremely frustrated right now and I can't think of anything more to do, neither can Google or Chatgpt... What tf am I missing or am I the only one in the entire world with an A770 who can´t play CS2?

Specs:
Intel I5 9600k CPU (not bottleneck, checked)
Asrock A770 16gb GPU
32gb ddr4 RAM
750w power supply
MSI z390 motherboard

Im thankful for all suggestions!

EDIT: I started overclocking my cpu as much as possible and it helped somewhat, but the game is still unplayable

be sure the game is running with the A770 instead of the igpu of the 9600k (UHD Graphics 630)

while intel drivers are far from being perfect, an A770 should give a better framrate than a 380x

on windows pc settings there should be an option to point the cs2 executable (default located at \steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\bin\win64\cs2.exe) and forcing the dedicated gpu.

I also suggest you to avoid any igpu monitor passthrought and connect the screen just directly to the a770

Your game is running on igpu. Google and setup your a770gpu to be the main gpu for your games.
hows the temp?

Cap in game FPS to 120 .
If your FPS still has massive drop , than your CPU cant handle it .
Also when you changing PC parts , reinstall Windows .

Lol your 5 year old cpu is the bottleneck

need a gtx 950
I see alot of people writing that the issue is the cpu and that it bottlenecks my gpu and this might very well be the case, but how come I didn´t have any issues with stuttering when using my old graphics card?
For as all the other suggestions, I have already tried them and temp is not close to being too high. Any other suggestions?

I'm pretty sure you are using your igpu if it is not the temps

Bc your cpu could handle that old graphics card. I have the same chipset and upgraded from 9600k to 9900kf the second I downloaded cs2 and it was stuttering
