killcam might be returning?
I saw what looked to be some kind of killcam feed when I loaded up cs2 earlier. It had placeholder text for player names, along with "x dmg in # hits" or something. The screen was all black and this loaded before I connected to a server.

Not sure why else I would have seen it, but those who wanted a killcam, maybe it's coming back? Why else would I have seen that quick screen of a rough draft of the killcam? I wish I had screenshot it in time. I was able to have it pop up when I made faceit launch a match.

im sure vavle puts work into a kill cam when 99.9% of players just turn it off instantly the second it would be a thing.

yeah, probably. I typically am pretty decent at guessing the amount of dmg I've done, and it was never a thing in comp, but for newer players, in the casual gamemodes, they'll get an idea of how much dmg each weapon does with and without armor, and they'll be more aware of the blind spots they're dying to, which I think is a good thing

I would probably keep it enabled if I felt like playing casual gamemode, just to see if I just got timing'd, didn't fully clear the angle and enemy was barely visible, or other niche uses for it.

So, the damage that you done to enemys in how many hits below their profile pictures isnt already a way to "learn" how much damage a weapons does?

In a comp when dead I would comm to my teammates approximate dmg done. It doesn't tell the player this if dead in comp, pretty sure. Maybe after the player is dead, but I am estimating dmg based on where I hit them before the fact

But I just quit the game, so other people can do some counting

Doesnt matter if they cant tell it instantly, that just means they really have to learn how much damage they approximately did and if that matches the damage shown after the round end.
