F*** CS, F*** VALVE, FIX UR ♥♥♥♥ GAME
linux performance is completely broken, the game compiles shaders EVERY TIME the game tries to join ANYTHING. how does this even happen? do you not test the updates you push? and then push 3 ♥♥♥♥ updates 500MB each for NOTHING, not even mentioning the linux issue.

hi,

please take into account that LINUX is not primarily built for gaming, and all games that work on linux do so via "ports". The system that enables CS2 to run on linux is not native.

for the best gaming experience, consider the windows options.

f off, valve has 2 systems that run linux, the deck and the machine. how can they not have their own game run on those systems? thats just stupid. not testing the update on the machine is just stupid, but we know that they wont test ♥♥♥♥ becaus why would they? the community does it for them. also not using the beta channel for big updates like this one. this is just so unneccesary, it could have easily been avoided and you defending them for this is top boot licker behaviour.

hi there,

I understand the frustration, but, unfortunately, CS2 is not built for LINUX.

The version that you install on Linux is a port. Maybe they will take into account making a true linux cs2 game in the future, but what you play now is made for windows computers.

Hi there,

I am fully aware that cs2 runs on linux. The problem you don't understand is that the GAME CODE is not MADE FOR LINUX. And another program "translates it". There is no LINUX CS2 native code. All you have on Linux is a port from windows code.

Hope this explains it better.

Whoever told you that CS2 is native LINUX game was totally wrong.

one google search and you would not look like a clown:

Yes, Counter-Strike 2 runs natively on Linux. Valve provides an official Linux and SteamOS client for the game, meaning you do not need to use Proton or Wine to play on standard Valve servers.

hi there,

I'm glad you can ask the AI questions and take their answers at face value.

What I said above is that the code they write is for WINDOWS and then it gets "translated" to Linux code. Maybe you wanna research on that. I never once said you need Proton or Wine, all I said is that CS2 is not build for Linux.

Having code that runs on linux native = the MAIN distro is built for LINUX. CS2 is NOT.

Hence, the errors you get.

Hi,

At this point, your failure to understand the main point, which is that NOBODY WRITES CODE FOR LINUX CS2, it's your prerogative.

You can keep thinking someone is actively patching 20+ Linux distros out of pure fun, or you can see the reality and understand how big companies provide "native" linux code: they take the windows build and translate it to linux.

I will no longer post on this thread, as there's nothing more to be added.

Have fun.

May I remind you what your original post said:

linux performance is completely broken, the game compiles shaders EVERY TIME the game tries to join ANYTHING. how does this even happen? do you not test the updates you push? (...)

IF CS2 WAS NATIVELY WRITTEN FOR LINUX, DO YOU THINK SUCH ERROR WOULD HAPPEN?

OR, MAYBE I AM RIGHT AND THESE ERROR HAPPEN DUE TO BAD CODE TRANSLATION FROM WINDOWS CODE??

It's really a no-brainer to understand what "native" to linux games are.

i see that you still want to contribute to this discussion, but i really wish you'd just stop. its painful to see that much misinformation.

also, i wanna remind you in a tone you seem to understand as you have written in it:

VALVE SELLS LINUX PC'S, I AM USING THE SAME DRIVERS, GRAPHICSCARD & NATIVE LINUX BUILD THAT THE VALVE PC'S USE, WHERE IT IS BROKEN ASWELL. ARE YOU REALLY THIS STUPID TO THINK ITS OK TO HAVE THE GAME NOT RUN ON THEIR OWN SYSTEMS? KEEP LICKING THE BOOTS OF MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANYS WHILE GIVING THEM ALL YOUR PRIVATE DATA WHILE SPREADING MISINFORMATION FOR THEM YOU TOOL.

just accept that you are wrong and remove urself from this conversation :)
Imagine gaming on linux. Imagine even USING linux. Lmao
