Typically see it a lot against scandavian players but have seen it on UK servers also, myself included.
Not every 5ms ping is someone masking their ping.
And I doubt you can lower your ping by manipulating some programs. If you’re close to the server you’re on and your internet is good- you’re gonna have a lower ping.
If you live close to the server you can have around 5 ping, just remember that the ping showing in the scoreboard its average ping its not the correct ping, if you want to see the correct ping you have to type ping in the console.
The answer is no, even if you ARE ON TOP OF THE SERVER your ping won't be 5.
The answer is one I already know...people are using some sort of VPN to spoof their connection. It's not necessarily new but the bottom line is people will cheat to win which is something Valve won't do anything about.
Close to 5 isn't 5. I'm talking about people with a ping locked at 5. This is an indication that the individual is cheating.
If you are near the server, hell even if you are in the next room of the server, your ping wouldn't be 5. You'd also need Elon Musk's PC. The "5 ping phenomena" has become too common to say some kid who admits he's in Easter Europe is connecting to a US-based server.
User name checks out , migth wanna change it to "tin foil hat wearing angry old man" to be even more accurate.
You can have 5 ping, this happen a lot in sweden, when you are in Stockholm bc the server are in Stockholm, But when we are talking about how spit the servers are yes its pretty hard to found a person that lives that close to a server. Outside that most off the people playing csgo have there internet speed from 2001 or even worst haha
I'm not in Sweden. I'm in the US and I am talking about people from Europe connecting to a US server with a 5 ping. The only way you explain that is using a form of a VPN to spoof your ping which is a violation of the terms of service.
If you read what i sayed you wont type what you type, vpn dont make your ping lower it will make it the same or a bit higher depends on how far you are from the vpn server. You can use a vpn to connect to a close server and then get 5 min its not a thing and its not how vpn works
You can open cmd and use the command "tracert IP" or "tracert website-url" to find out how many hops it took and how your ping changed.
