Skins give an unfair advantage (read)
Some people believe that skins are completely cosmetic and that they do nothing. However, they are much more than that, skins provide an unfair advantage in the game and can take away your competitive edge. They provide an unfair advantage by making players who use them appear more skilled than players who do not use skins. This is often a deciding factor in games and tournaments.

Don't get me wrong, if cheap skins provided the same advantages it wouldn't even be that bad. However this is not the case. Infact the contrary is true, as I once played a game where I accidentally dropped my AK-47 Safari Mesh on the map Dust 2, and I could no longer find it because it blended in so well with the ground, which caused me to get killed. This means that people with expensive skins get an advantage, while people with cheap or no skins get a significant disadvantage, making the game unbalanced and having an effect on your performance.

People who play with more expensive skins will always get an unfair advantage over people with cheap skins. The problem became so serious that even pro teams began exploiting this, if you look at the tournaments you will notice that the winners always have expensive skins, which means they are cheating. Why would pro teams want to be the best if the easiest thing to do is to buy an advantage, like buying skins to win. You are essentially just as skilled, but you have twice the chance of winning due to owning skins, as much as if you cheat. What is more is that the pro teams can easily buy all these advantages for a small amount of money. This is unfair to the players who do not use a lot of money to buy weapons and skins. They don't have this kind of advantage in the game and they don't play against people who do.

This is why the SKINS should be removed from the game.

If you’re playing a tournament then you’re skilled enough to know that skins are nothing more than a cosmetic rework of an exactly same item everyone’s using. You’ve put aot of effort into this post but you’re so wrong, sorry.

A good example: if you give a 10y.o kid, who’s just purchased CSGO yesterday a $100k karambit, he’s not gonna all of a sudden start running aroung giving knife aces. If you give a bad player, who’s a KD of 1-8 with stock AWP an AWP with 4 kato 2k14 stickers on it he’s not gonna turn that 1-8 into a 31-8.

Bad players aren’t bad because they don’t have good skins. And good players don’t care what skins others have.

These comments simply prove my point since they prove that a lot of people do not understand the issues with skins. The fact that they do not understand something simply means that they don't care enough to understand it.

People want to play the game and watch it on a level playing field, without any advantage to the players. People want fair games. People want fair competition. People want the best players and the best teams to win.

It is a fact that people with skins have an advantage over those without skins, and this is an undisputable fact which no one can refute. For this reason, the SKINS should be removed from the game.

If they still want to have skins they can always play on community servers. Community servers are usually populated by more casual players, and these people do not care as much about the competitive scene, as they simply want to play the game for personal enjoyment, while the competitive scene is somewhat more refined and sophisticated like myself. So like I said, people who want skins should just be moved to unofficial servers.

However as I said, skins have no place in a competitive game and should be removed, and this will probably take a lot of time and work, however it is the right thing to do. There are many other problems in the game as well and if these skins are removed then people might not care about many of the other problems. Which means that removing skins could pretty much negate all other problems that the game has and it would make the game better for everyone.

Secondly, I am a competitive player and I love the game. So I would rather see it improve than get worse. I am not being negative. This is purely for the benefit of the game and I have no ill intentions at all.

You literally failed over here, since 90% of skins are colorful and are more visible than the default ones.
So if we talking about advantages, then users with skins put themself into disadvantages over users without skins.
Even default T agents on Dust2 are less visible than any paid ones.

I’ve just given you a good example of why a bad player is a bad player. A bad player won’t suddenly start playing better if he gets a different skin. Same way a good player won’t play worse if you take his skin away from him. The only one that doesn’t seem to understand the issue is you.

If your point is that a better skin gives you a psychological advantage then the issue isn’t the skin but your self-confidence.
